So what are the differences between my stand up act and working with Micah? One: there’s two of us. Two: there’s a guitar. Three... I would say, at this point, there is still more improvisation with Micah than all the solo shows I do. Because we make each other laugh and he is amazing at improv. So I love being there, bouncing off of him, and supporting him. In a way I’ll also do it when I’m alone, doing stand-up. When an audience is great, I will do so much more riffing and making things up in the moment. Which is funny, because when an audience is colder, and needs more warming up, I’ll do more of my material. The worse an audience is, the more polished a performance they will get.

JCS: ‘Wag’ is an antiquated word that means wit or jester; who is your favorite wag and why?

MK: Uh, tell me what a wag is again, I want to make sure I understand.

JCS: Sure, a wit or a jester... like Oscar Wilde.

MK: Oh, okay, I understand now. I thought you said a gesture, like to make a movement with your hand. A wit or a gesture? I guess, a hand wave or like a dog could wag its tail...

JCS: It could be a mime, like you really got into Marcel Marceau...

MK: Let me say, I love Billy the Mime. He’s a guy I love. He was my favorite part of the Aristocrats movie. I love him in everything I’ve seen him in.
